Phil "The Poker Brat" Hellmuth won his first World Series Of Poker bracelet in 1989 when he was only 24 years old making him the youngest WSOP winner of all time. After this he has managed to play home additional 10 WSOP wins. Phil also makes different poker media like books and videos. With his current work as Ultimate bet's spokesperson the time working with poker consumes most of Phil Hellmuths time.
Phil Hellmuth was born 1964 in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. He went to University of Wisconsin before he started to play poker. He first came in contact with poker and started to play Texas Holdem in 1985 just four years before he took down the title of Poker Champion of the World. Phil lives today in Palo Alto with his wife, Kathy and two sons, Phillip III and Nicholas.
The Poker Brat comes from his attitude and ego. If you would outdraw Phil in a tournament he would probably stand up from the chair and give his points how impossible that draw was and you are one of the luckiest players he has ever seen. Despite this he is one of most aggressive and fierce players around the globe with plenty of poker wins behind him.
His aggressive style of playing poker has proven to be a successful strategy although you will find many players saying that his way of playing is to aggressive. Since he started playing poker in 1988 he has over 50 tournament wins, 9 World Series Of Poker bracelets, which puts him in tied top position with Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan and he has been voted as "The best poker tournament player in the world", ranked number one in Hall of Fame Poker Tournament wins with 5 wins and 17 final tables reached in the WSOP.
Phil Hellmuth plays a lot of online poker. He is one of the founders of Ultimatebet.com. Team UB consists of, Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke, Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari and Dave "The Devilfish" Ulliot. His Ultimatebet nickname is "Phil Helmuth" but he has also used "#1_Lucky_One".
