Dan Harrington is a former bankruptcy lawyer that has several top positions in World Series Of Poker event including two WSOP bracelets in 1995. He is also backgammon champion and widely known in those circles.
He was born 1945 in Cambridge Massachusetts. He went to Suffolk University where he picked up roulette and poker. During his time at the University he played poker against Bill Gates and Paul Allen, which were students at Harvard University. After he graduated from Law School in Boston he started to work as a bankruptcy lawyer.
He is now also working with real estate and money loans. He is also into the stock market were he sees similarities with the game of poker, just another type of game. He has always been known as a money shark and where there is money to be earned game, stocks or real estate he could certainly be there.
Dan Harrington is also known as "Action Dan". This nickname comes from his way of playing poker. He is among the tightest players at the poker tables and when he won World Series Of Poker in 1995 he was big underdog just because of this. Over the years he has played more daringly but not reckless and he is ranked as the best tournament player to many.
Action Dan has 2 World Series Of Poker bracelets and many respectable top finishing in 2000. He finished 6:th place at his first WSOP event in 1987.

When he was 26 years old he won Massachusetts State Chess Championship and he became the World Champion of Backgammon in 1980.
